KUALA LUMPUR: Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the Malaysia Army troop were on standby and ready to deployed if needed.
In a Twitter posting to Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, he said one battalion in Kota Kinabalu and one battalion in Labuan were already on standby in Sabah.
"CM @MusaHjAman - Trup @tenteradarat on standby & ready to deploy. 1 Batalion di KK & 1 Batalion di Labuan disamping trup sedia ada di Kak," he said in his posting.
Another Royal Malaysian Air Force EC725 is also on standby in Kota Kinabalu and will be carrying out operations once they receive information from the first EC725 that were doing checks at Mount Kinabalu and Ranau there.
"Another EC725 on standby in KK, akan diaturgerak stlh mendapat maklumat tinjauan/proving EC725 pertama ke kwsn Gunung Kinabalu & Ranau #Sabah," he posted on his twitter account, @hishammuddinh20.
