Bank Rakyat launches Rakyat Care service

KUALA PILAH: Bank Rakyat today officially launched its agent banking initiatives known as Rakyat Care to increase access to quality and efficient banking services to all segments of society, particularly in rural areas.

The ceremony was launched by Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek.

Hasan in his speech said Rakyat Care would provide residents of Kuala Pilah, especially the Bank Rakyat customers, with the facilities to conduct deposit, cash withdrawal, money transfer, payment of utility and payment of financing transactions.

“While to those who are not Bank Rakyat customers, they are still be able to conduct deposit and payment of utility.

“With Rakyat Care, the particular cooperative will gain side income through an increase in their customers as well as gain commission as an agent bank.”

The various services provided are available every day from 8am to 9.30pm, including Saturday and Sunday.

To date, there are 36 Rakyat Care operated across the country, with 30 owned by cooperatives and six belonged to individual.
