Pahang and JDT supporters reminded not to be emotional

KUANTAN: Pahang and Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) supporters have been reminded not to be emotional but show maturity and sportsmanship as their teams clash at the Darul Makmur Stadium here tonight.

Kuantan Deputy Police chief Supt Abdul Aziz Ahmad said the supporters were reminded to follow instructions by the authorities and not to commit provocation.

“This warning is issued following threatening remarks made by Pahang supporters in the social media.

“Police had called supporters of the teams for a meeting recently. The Pahang Supporters Club chairman denied issuing any threats,” he said in a statement today.

Both the football supporters clubs had also promised not to trigger any untoward incidents in the Super League match scheduled at 10 tonight, he added.

Police will be deploying 500 men to ensure that the much anticipated match proceeds smoothly. –BERNAMA
