KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit pared yesterday losses against US dollar to open firmer, bolstered by commercial demand, dealers said.
At 9.15am, the local currency was quoted at 3.7785/7815 against 3.7825/7855 yesterday.
The ringgit, however, opened lower against other major currencies.
It weakened against the Singapore dollar to 2.8035/8059 from 2.8004/8045 and depreciated against the yen to 3.0840/0874 from 3.0762/0799 previously.
The local currency declined against the euro to 4.2289/2326 from 4.2016/2061 on Monday and inched down against the pound sterling to 5.9402/9464 from 5.9400/9459 yesterday.--BERNAMA
