SEREMBAN: A court bailiff was freed by the High Court here today for forging documents in 2008.
Judge Datuk Zabariah Mohd Yusof made the decision after dismissing the prosecution’s appeal against Zaireq Fairriel Zaidon’s acquittal at the magistrate’s court on Nov 14 last year.
In her judgement, Zabariah said the names of the 21 bidders in the alleged falsified documents existed.
Zaireq, 32, was charged in April 2013 with committing fraud on the list of bidders for an auction held on July 31, 2008.
He was alleged to have committed the offence in his capacity as the assistant to the deputy registrar in the auction at the Seremban Court Complex the same day.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Aida Mastura Mohamed Aman prosecuted while Zaireq was represented by counsel M.Haresh.
