JOHOR BARU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived here this evening to attend a Buka Puasa event hosted by the Johor Umno liaison committee.
He arrived at 7.05pm at the event's venue at the Johor Menteri Besar's official residence, Saujana.
He was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
Najib and Muhyiddin later joined other Johor Umno leaders in a congregation to perform the magrib, isyak and terawikh prayers.
The leaders joined some 1,500 guests to break their fast at the main tent at Saujana's compound.
Also present were Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Najib's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, state assembly speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Aziz, state executive council members and others.
Most of the 26 Umno division chiefs in Johor were present at the event.
The event had earlier begun with an Al Quran recital ceremony.
