Allegations were baseless and untrue: Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd

KUALA LUMPUR: Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd has denied claims of transferring money into the personal account of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, as alleged by the foreign media.

Its managing director Datuk Shamsul Anwar Sulaiman in a statement yesterday, said that the allegations were baseless and untrue as the company had never transferred money into any individual account, including Najib’s.

“I strongly deny any transfer of money into the personal account of the Prime Minister as alleged by the media reports.

“The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects carried out by Ihsan Perdana are fully audited and accounted for,” he said.

Shamsul was responding to a report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) yesterday, which claimed the company had transferred money for CSR programs into Najib’s personal bank account.

The report had quoted sources as claiming that Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd, which provides corporate social responsibility programs for 1MDB’s charitable foundation, was one of the companies which was used to channel money into Najib’s accounts.
