Man jailed for slapping wife, son

KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed man was sentenced to a total of three months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here today for causing hurt on his wife and son.

Magistrate Jesseca Daimis handed down the sentence on P. Govindasamy, who pleaded guilty to the charges.

He was sentenced to two months’ jail for causing hurt on K. Parameswary, 36, and a month jail for causing hurt on their son, to be served consecutively from the date of his arrest on July 18.

Govindasamy was charged with voluntarily causing hurt on his wife and son at their house at PPR Seri Negeri Sembilan, Sentul here, at 4 pm last Friday (July 17).

According to the facts of the case, Govindasamy, who was then drunk, lost his temper and slapped his wife and son when he arrived home after seeing the untidy condition of the house.

The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor N. Joy Jothi, while Govindasamy was unrepresented. – BERNAMA
