KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar in early trade supported by continuous buying momentum for the local note, a dealer said.
At 9.15 am, the ringgit was quoted at 3.7950/7980 against the greenback from 3.8020/8050 recorded at 5 pm yesterday.
A dealer said the ringgit was recovering from its 16-year low seen earlier this month.
Meanwhile, the ringgit was traded mostly lower against other major currencies.
It depreciated versus the Singapore dollar to 2.7810/7836 from 2.7786/7812 on Tuesday, fell against the yen to 3.0644/0674 from 3.0580/0611 and weakened against the euro to 4.1544/1584 from 4.1267/1315.
The ringgit, however, rose against the pound sterling to 5.9073/9135 from 5.9212/9263 yesterday. --Bernama
