KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) has appointed Dr Mohd Akbar Md Said as Director-General, effective July 24, 2015.
Prior to his appointment, Dr Mohd Akbar was the Deputy Director-General (Research & Innovation) responsible for MRB’s direction, planning and strategies of research and innovation.
He also worked closely with the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, the Malaysian rubber industry and other agencies.
Dr Akbar’s expertise in research and development is related to latex harvesting technologies which include areas such as latex stimulant (chemical and bio-based latex stimulant, and gaseous stimulant) and low intensity tapping systems.--BERNAMA
