Catch Taiwanese singer Tiger Huang Xiao Hu in a one-night show

VETERAN Taiwanese singer Tiger Huang Xiao Hu will perform at Tiger Huang Live In Genting at 8.30pm tonight in the Genting International Convention Centre, First World Hotel, Genting Highlands.

Also known as The Queen Of Pub Singers, she first hit the international music charts in the early 1990s with the classic Mandarin ballad, More Than Friends, which was penned by her fellow Taiwanese singing star, Sky Wu.

Since then she has released many successful Mandarin and English albums throughout the East Asian region.

Huang is a gifted performer who can sing all kinds of songs, from pop ballads and upbeat dance numbers, to rock, R&B and even traditional folk songs.

She has recorded songs in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and Japanese and feels most comfortable when she is performing her first love, jazz songs.

She has a legion of fans throughout East Asia, and recently enjoyed renewing her success with The Voice series of albums.

These albums put her dynamic live concert performances in the spotlight once again. She also starred in a Malaysian comedy titled Kara King last year.

To date, Huang has released more than a dozen studio albums, plus three very successful live concert albums at the start of the millennium.

In 2004 and 2005, she had a number of sellout concerts at the Taipei International Convention Centre in the Taiwan capital. And in 2006 and 2007, she made special appearances in Shanghai and several mainland Chinese cities. In 2008, she embarked on the Tour Of Taiwan and appeared regularly on the highly popular weekly talent show Happy Day.
