Liverpool hammer Felda 7-0 in warm up

KUALA LUMPUR: Liverpool warmed up for their exhibition against a Malaysian Selection tomorrow with a 7-0 rout of Felda United in a practice match today.

The 5,000 fans who turned up at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil were given a rare treat as Liverpool put seven past the Super League club in the 60-minute kick-about.

New Liverpool signing Danny Ings marked his 23rd birthday with a hat-trick while Pedro Cirivella, Lazar Markovic, Sheyi Ojo and Joao Teixeira were also on target.

Liverpool fielded mostly reserve players today with only Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho, besides Ings and Markovic, among the seniors to play.

Earlier, the Malaysian Selection took to the pitch for training with coach Dollah Salleh pleased with his team's progress.

"We only had a short period to prepare for this match and my main concern is not getting beaten heavily," said Dollah.

"But I trust in my players and I know they will so their best and fight to the end."
