KL shares lower at mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR: – Bursa Malaysia was lower at mid-morning today in lacklustre trading, dealers said.

At 11.01 am, the key FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 6.31 points to 1,713.16 after opening 2.43 points lower at 1,720.01.

On the broader market, decliners outnumbered gainers by 380 to 224, while 274 counters were unchanged, 933 untraded and 19 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 557.52 million shares worth RM371.78 million.

On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index declined 36.79 points to 11,863.37, FBMT100 Index eased 37.771 points to 11,531.18 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index fell 38.07 points to 12,313.05.

The FBM 70 lost 24.92 points to 12,839.82. The FBM Ace gained 2.16 points to 6,484.71.

On a sectoral basis, the Plantation Index dipped 22.8 points to 7,416.96, Finance Index declined 26.801 points to 15,528.31 and the Industrial Index fell 2.52 points to 3,173.72.

Among actives, GPA and Vsolar rose half-a-sen each to 12 sen and 13 sen respectively, and Denko was 3.5 sen higher to 44.5 sen.

AWC slipped half-a-sen to 41 sen while Scanwolf was flat at 54 sen.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank added two sen to RM9.21 and Sime Darby gained one sen to RM8.45. Public Bank was flat at RM19.02.

TNB lost six sen to RM12.24 and Axiata eased one sen to RM6.36. --BERNAMA
