Kelantan draws 2-2 against Sime Darby

KOTA BARU: Kelantan failed to take home advantage after settling for a draw against bottom club Sime Darby FC in the only fixture for the Super League last night at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here.

The result sees Kelantan remaining in ninth spot with 15 points after playing 14 matches, while Sime Darby is still bottom of the league, with only five points.

In tonight’s action, Kelantan opened the score in the sixth minute through Amiridzwan Taj Tajudin who tapped in a cross from Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor.

The Red Warriors almost doubled the lead in the 17th minute. However, Erwin Carillo’s bicycle kick was saved by Sime Darby FC’s keeper, Redzuan Harun.

The visiting team managed to equalise in the 24th minute after Nemanja Vidakovic easily headed in Marko Perovic’s cross, and the score remained level until the end of the first half.

After the break, Sime Darby FC went ahead through Reinaldo Da Costa's strike in the 50th minute.

Brazilian import Gilmar Da Silva saved the blushes of the home team after scoring their second goal in the 72nd minute, levelling the score.

Kelantan will take on Armed Forces in their 15th match of the season at home, come Tuesday.--BERNAMA
