KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed man was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here today with possession of terrorism-related publications.
Nazirul Abidin Thalha, 28, allegedly kept 15 of such publications in a house at Lorong Wangsa Ceria 1D, Wangsa Melawati, here, at 7am on July 2.
Among the 15 publications were ‘The Islamic State’, ‘How To Survive In The West 2015 A Mujahid Guide’ and ‘Hijrah To The Islamic’.
The charge under Section 130JB(1)(a) of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of seven years or fine and liable to forfeiture of the materials, upon conviction.
No plea was recorded from the accused who merely nodded when the charge was read to him before Magistrate Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin.
The court set Aug 28 for re-mention of the case.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Nadia Mohd Izhar while counsel Mohamad Fauzan Husin represented the accused.--BERNAMA
