Former lawyer claims trial for two charges of criminal breach of trust

IPOH: A 49-year-old former lawyer, who is currently serving a six years’ jail sentence for criminal breach of trust (CBT), has claimed trial to two charges of CBT at the Sessions Court, here, yesterday.

John Willibrod Concisom was accused of committing the offences from Aug 1, 2010 to Dec 31, 2010 and Jan 1, 2011 to Jan 31, 2011 at Tetuan Concisom & Co in Jalan Seenivasagam here.

He allegedly misappropriated RM59,800 and RM13,650 respectively and was charged under Section 409 of the Penal Code.

If found guilty, Concisom, who was disbarred in 2010, faces a jail term of minimum two years or maximum 20 years with whipping and fine.

The accused, who is now serving his sentence at Kajang Prison, came to court clad in a green prison uniform and handcuffed.

He was represented by Sukdev Singh, while Muhammad Fauzi Md Yusof appeared for the prosecution.

Sessions Court judge Rushan Lutfi Mohamed fixed Sept 1 for mention.
