Kluang Umno delegates snap up copies of new-look New Sunday Times

KLUANG: The large crowd at the Umno Kluang delegates meeting in Dewan Pekan Baru provided the perfect opportunity for the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) Batu Pahat newspaper and sales distribution team to market copies of the new-look New Sunday Times.

The New Sunday Times and the New Straits Times, given a fresh look in conjunction with its 170th anniversary this year, was eagerly snapped up by delegates keen to catch up on the latest news.

Batu Pahat NSTP Newspaper Sales and Distribution department senior sales executive Mahat Hatip said the department had initially planned to sell the newspapers at several locations, but decided to stay put at the hall here due to the large crowd thronging the hall for the assembly, which was attended by Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin.

"We’s sold off more than 80 per cent of the newspapers and we expect to sell more when the assembly finishes," he said.

Retiree, Halimat Atan, 63, of Seremban, was among those who took the opportunity to purchase a copy of the new-look New Sunday Times.

“I’m a keen follower of Muhyiddin, and always buy various newspapers to keep up on any latest developments on him,” she said.
