Syed Mohd Agil hopes to make an impact at KL Open

KUALA LUMPUR: Young National tennis ace Syed Mohd Agil Syed Naquib hopes to put up a competitive performance in the 2015 Kuala Lumpur Open Tennis Championships from Aug 27 to 31.

Kuala Lumpur Lawn Tennis Association (KLLTA) deputy president Ahmad Abd Jamil said the fifth edition of the championships will be a platform for local tennis players to compete against international players.

Ahmad said the top eight ranked players in the country will compete in the championships together with Syed Mohd Agil and women’s defending champion Jawairiah Nordin.

“We welcome the top eight players in the country to participate in the prestigious tournament. It does not only give players an opportunity to play against top international players but also offers ranking points,” he told reporters at the National Tennis Centre (NTC) in Jalan Duta, here today.

The championships which offers total prize money of RM71,000 has already attracted 150 local and foreign entries.

Matches will be played at the NTC and the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur Tennis Centre at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. – BERNAMA
