GEORGE TOWN: Some 6,000 pre-owned properties are up for sale in the Malaysia Secondary Property Exhibition (Maspex) at the Queensbay Mall here from now to Aug 16.
MIEA president Erick Y.T. Kho said the exhibition offers potential homeowners with reasonable prices for homes in Penang.
“Secondary homes (pre-owned properties) are being sold 30 to 40 per cent cheaper than similar property offers begin offered by developers in the same vicinity.
“The Malaysian Property Report 2014 had indicated that at least 75 per cent of the sales came from secondary properties,” he said in a press conference after the launch of the exhibition here on Thursday.
Maspex was earlier held in Johor in May, which attracted some 20,000 visitors to the Sutera Mall in Skudai.
Maspex, in its third year running, is organised by the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) and sponsored by Maybank.
