PPA1M to provide lower pricing homes

KLUANG: The 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing Programme (PPA1M) will soon provide homes which are lower in price to meet the demand of civil servants who earn salaries below RM1,000.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said since the scheme for affordable housing for civil servants was introduced two years ago, there has been demand for houses from civil servants in the support group categories.

"There were requests for lower prices of houses for those who earn a salary of below RM1,000 monthly.

"This request is currently being reviewed by the Prime Minister's Department and if all are in place, the houses for this group will be sold between RM90,000 to RM120,000 per unit. The details of the development are being ironed out," said Ali after visiting the PPA1M project site at Bandar Kluang Yayasan Pelajaran Johor (YPJ), here today.

The project comprises a total of 905 units of double storey houses which will be built on a 35ha plot of land next to the Enche' Besar Hajjah Kalsom hospital, Kluang.
