KUALA LUMPUR - CHAN Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying extended their fine run at the Vietnam Open GP by reaching the quarter-finals today.
The Malaysian mixed doubles upset second seeds Praveen Jordan-Debby Susanto 21-16, 21-12 in just 34 minutes. It was also their first win over the Indonesians.
"We took full advantage of their lack in form," said Liu Ying when contacted in Ho Chi Minh.
"Indonesians have got a similar style of play, and you need to know that. If you can counter their game, there is a good chance of beating them and we did that.
"We are confident, but we will take each match after this seriously."
Peng Soon-Liu Ying, are up against another Indonesian pair Andrei Adistia-Vita Marissa next.
It was the end of the road, however, for women's doubles Amelia Alicia Anscelly-Soong Fie Cho, who went down 21-15, 21-13 to Taiwan's Chen Hsiao Huan-Huang Mei Ching.
