Following complaints, Penang police remove Bersih 4.0 posters

GEORGE TOWN: Penang police had taken down tens of Bersih 4.0 posters in several areas in the city on the grounds that it contained seditious elements.

Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the posters were put up mostly on signboards and business premises in Bukit Dumbar area.

“Police received complaints from the public about the posters this morning and further investigation is being done under Section 4(1)(a) of the Sedition Act 1948,” he said today.

Mior Faridalatrash said the police would also look into the closed-circuit television camera footage in the area to identify the individuals involved in putting up the posters.
