GEORGE TOWN: A 31-year-old debt collector was shot dead at the Udini flyover here today.
In the 8.30am incident, the unidentified man on a motorcycle was travelling towards Gelugor from Jelutong on Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.
He was then believed to be shot by another motorist from the left lane, as he lied in a pool of blood on the median of the flyover.
Penang police Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk SAC Zakaria Ahmad said it was not immediately known how the man was shot down.
"We found the man to be shot on his head and torso.
"We are unsure if the shooter was on a motorcycle or a car, we will review CCTV footage to find out.
"Forensics is sweeping the area, we hope to find the cause of the incident," he said in when met at the scene.
The case we will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
