Police searching for duo over stomping of Najib-Hadi picture

KUALA LUMPUR: Police summoned two Bersih 4 participants to assist investigation into the alleged act of repeatedly stepping on a doctored picture of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and PAS party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang during the 34 hours gathering in the city centre last weekend.

City police Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Zainuddin Ahmad said the two women; one clad in white short and a yellow t-shirt while another clad in a brown pants and yellow t-shirt written ‘Bersih 4’ are required to come forward to Dang Wangi district police station to assist investigation.

“We urged the two individuals to come forward immediately to facilitate police’s investigation,” he said in a statement.

Zainuddin said the investigation were conducted by the federal police Classified Investigation Unit under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code for circulating any statement, rumour or report with intent to cause, fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or against the public tranquillity.

On Saturday and Sunday, the super-imposed image of Abdul Hadi embracing Najib was allegedly placed on the ground for rally participants to step on.
