AirAsia and MAHB boards to meet soon

KUALA LUMPUR: The Boards of both Airasia Bhd and Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd will be meeting with the management teams of both companies this month to find a solution for the disagreements between both parties.

"This will be the first time the boards are meeting in 14 years and it is a good sign," said AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.

"It is better that we work together and find common areas of interests than keep having disagreements on how the LCC should be run," he said.

Fernandes said he received word of the proposed meeting via Whatsapp message at the low cost carrier's announcement of promotional packages for its Kuala Lumpur-Goa direct flights today.

He declined to reveal the exact date when the meeting between the two companies will take place.

He added that the carrier's RM409 million lawsuit against MAHB will continue.
