GEORGE TOWN: A macaque caused a brief stir at a mosque when it barged into the premises during a religious class today.
Pictures of the unexpected visitor climbing onto the shoulder of a man and of it ‘joining’ the class have gone viral in the 9.30am incident at Jitra, Kedah.
The macaque remained in the room and its presence halted the session.
It apparently wandered about in the mosque for about an hour.
The Civil Defence Department unit was eventually called upon to capture the intruder shortly afterwards.
