NILAI: The nation bid their final goodbye as the country's hero, Tan Sri Yuen Yuet Leng was laid to rest at 12.35pm today.
Yuen, a former policeman who fought the communists during the insurgency, was buried with full police honour at the Xiao En Memorial Park here today.
Two wreaths were placed on his casket by his wife, Puan Sri Chan Choy May and Bukit Aman Management Department director Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah before it was lowered down.
Later, Zulkifli handed over the Jalur Gemilang, which was draped on Yuen's casket to his wife.
The sound of the last post was also played by two policemen as a mark of respect to their fellow comrade.
Also present was former armed forces chief Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Dr Mohamed Hashim Mohd Ali, who was also Yuen's best friend.
