Goh Jin Wei bags second senior title

GOH Jin Wei, received a huge confidence booster ahead of the World Junior Championships, following her victory in the women's singles final at the Vietnam International Series today.

Jin Wei, 15, defeated Taiwan's Chen Su Yu 21-9, 21-13 in just 27 minutes.

The title is Jin Wei's second senior crown this year, after the Belgian International Challenge last month.

BA of Malaysia (BAM) development project manager Kwan Yoke Meng, is hoping the youngster will be able to produce the same kind of form in Lima on Nov 4-15.

"I hope she keeps it up. Now that she is done in Vietnam, she can fully focus on the World Junior Championships.

"It is important to ensure that she is injury free. I hope that her fine performance in Europe last month including this win in Vietnam will boost her confidence.

"I don't want the players to feel pressured, but I think Jin Wei can reach the semi-finals in Peru," said Yoke Meng.

Mixed doubles Tan Kian Meng-Peck Yen Wei, however, were not as fortunate as they went down 21-13, 19-21, 21-17 to Indonesia's Rian Swastedian-Masita Mahmudin in the mixed doubles final.
