Peter out for a quick win at Tigers of Asia

KUALA LUMPUR: Big names Peter Davis, Ann Osman and Ev Ting will lead Malaysia's challenge at ONE Championship: Tigers of Asia event at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Friday.

Peter will be fighting Australian Adrian “The Hunter” Pang and will be eager to prove himself worthy of a shot at the lightweight World Championship title.

The 34-year-old, who is on a four fight winning streak, said he is looking to notch a quick win on the night.

“It is good to get a higher class opponent with a solid record like Adrian," said Peter.

"He has a great guard game and solid Muay Thai (skills) but of course I am looking to stop the fight in the first round and give the crowd an exciting match".

Ann, who has won her last three bouts, will be given a stern test in the women's flyweight category as she will be up against Russia’s Irina Mazepa who is a six-time Wushu world champion and a K1 world champion kickboxer.

New Zealand-based Ev will look to rebound from losing his last fight against Russian Marat Gafurov when he takes on Filipino Honor Banario in the men's featherweight.

Other Malaysians fighting at Tigers of Asia are Agilan Thani (middleweight), Melvin Yeoh (featherweight), Saiful Merican (featherweight) and Gianni Subba (flyweight).

The main bout will feature Middleweight World Champion Igor “Lionheart” Svirid of Kazakhstan defending his title against Russian contender Vitaly Bigdash.

Tigers of Asia is part of the inaugural Mixed Martial Arts Week in Kuala Lumpur. Tune Talk's Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) grand finals will be held on Saturday, also at the Putra Stadium.
