Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying checked themselves into the second round of the Bitburger GP Gold following their 21-11, 21-11 win over Ukraine's Gennadiy Natarov-Natalya Voytsekh in the first round today.
Peng Soon-Liu Ying will play Germany's Peter Kaesbauer-Franziska Volkmann later for a place a in tomorrow's quarter-finals.
Wong Fai Yin-Chow Mei Kuan, are the other Malaysian pair through to the next round after receiving a walkover from Sweden's Nico Ruponen-Amanda Hogstrom. Fai Yin-Mei Kuan are up against fourth seeds Michael Fuchs-Birgit Michels.
It was, however the end of the road for women's singles Tee Jing Yi who chased out in the second round.
Jing Yi, who had defeated Rong Schafer of the United States on Wednesday, yesterday went down 21-18, 21-17 to Japan's Akane Yamaguchi.
Men's singles Chong Wei Feng, men's doubles Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong and women's doubles Vivian Hoo Kah Moon-Woon Khe Wei, are all involved in late matches.
