IPOH: Flash floods have forced the evacuation of 185 people here and Batu Gajah when their homes were affected last night.
State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the victims were from Taman Pulai Raya, Taman Hock Aun and Kampung Tasek here and Taman Kinta Permai and Kampung Sri Jaya Tambahan in Batu Gajah.
However, he said 71 evacuees in Batu Gajah and another 14 from Kampung Tasek here were allowed to return home this morning.
He said only 100 people are still seeking shelter at two flood relief centres here, namely Buntong and Simpang Pulai community halls as of 10am.
Heavy rain for several hours since yesterday late afternoon had resulted in flash floods that also inundated several roads here.
