UPSR: Malacca posts best result since 2005

MALACCA: The number of pupils who obtained straight A's in the UPSR examination has increased to 1,311 pupils, a 0.7 per cent improvement compared to last year's 1,242 pupils.

State Education Department director Abu Bakar Sahari said this was the state's best result over a period of 10 years.

A total of 13,372 pupils sat for the examination at 241 examination centres here this year.

"The overall UPSR performance has shown an improvement with seven subjects showing an increase in the number of pupils who scored A's."

He added the state's Average National Grade (GPN) has increased by 0.01 point, from a GPN of 2.15 in 2014 to 2.16 this year.

"The percentage of students scoring a minimum of Grade C reduced by 2.6 per cent, from 71.7 per cent in 2014 to 69.1 per cent this year," he said when announcing the UPSR result analysis at Kolej Yayasan Saad here today.
