KUALA SELANGOR: The number of flood victims at Kampung Parit Mahang relocation centre increased to 274 victims this afternoon from 106 victims this morning.
The victims are from 86 families and they include seven infants and 26 senior citizens.
More people have been sent to the centre after water level increased to 1.5 metre from one metre this morning.
A ‘Level 1 disaster’ has been declared in flood-affected areas in Kuala Selangor today.
The declaration was made by Kuala Selangor district officer Shamsul Shahril Badliza Mohd Noor.
Shamsul, in a statement, said the National Security Council’s directive number 20 is now in force and the Flood Operation Control Centre will be opened at Kampung Parit Mahang’s relocation centre.
