Four teenagers drown in Tasik Ara Damansara

PETALING JAYA: Four teenagers including a girl drowned when they went for a swim in Tasik Ara Damansara here earlier today.

The 4.30pm incident at Jalan PJU 1A/1 was noticed by members of the public who immediately notified Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) said the victims were aged between 12 and 14.

They were identified as Mohd Fikry Mohamad Ady, 14, Norasyikin Jamil, 12, Hafiz Hakimi, 14, and Raja Iskandar Shah, 12.

Sani said Mohd Fikry was found at 5.15pm by members of the public who tried to save the victims.

The bodies of three other victims were found by firemen between 6.05pm and 6.08pm.

Fikry’s younger brother Muhammad Huzain, 11, survived the incident when security guards who heard the children crying for help managed to save him.

All four victims were pronounced dead by a team of medical personnel from the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.

He said the victims' bodies were then taken by police, and sent to the hospital for post mortem.
