KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened easier this morning on weak demand for the local note, dealers said.
At 9.08am, the ringgit was quoted at 4.2980/3070 against the US dollar from 4.2830/2880 last Friday.
The local note was also traded mixed against other major currencies.
It depreciated against the Singapore dollar to 3.0381/0451 from 3.0311/0368 last Friday and weakened against the yen to 3.4943/5022 from 3.4861/4913 previously.
The ringgit, however, rose against the British pound to 6.5244/5406 from last Friday’s 6.5363/6461 and strengthened against the euro to 4.5696/5801 from 4.5730/5800 previously.--BERNAMA
