IPOH: Five Gopeng Wanita Umno division leaders resigned from their respective posts effective today.
The five – Fatimah Abdul Rahman (secretary), Mazidah Kaulan (information chief), Hasiah Sambang (treasurer), Kalsom Abdul Hamid and Fatimah Md Isa (appointed committee member) - made the announcement during a joint press conference with the former divisional Wanita Umno chief Datuk Hamidah Osman.
They made the decision following the sacking of Hamidah, which was announced by party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Tuesday, on disciplinary grounds.
Meanwhile, Hamidah said she had yet to receive the official notice on her sacking.
“I will not file an appeal as I have yet to receive any letter regarding this matter,” she said adding that she only knew about the sacking from the media.
