SUNGAI PETANI: Two siblings, aged two and six, are dead, believed to have been slaughtered by their own mother at their home in Taman Wira Indah here this afternoon.
In the 3pm incident, the boys were found in their respective bedrooms in a pool of blood, after they were believed to have been slaughtered by their mother with a knife.
A police spokesman said other family members who realised the incident then called the police.
"Police who arrived not long after then detained the suspect and brought her to the Kuala Muda district police headquarters for further action.
"The forensics team from the state contingent police headquarters are at present checking on the victims," he said.
