MACC meets Najib on SRC International, RM2.6bil issues

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has recorded a statement from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak over issues concerning SRC International as well as the RM2.6bil political donation.

In a statement this afternoon, MACC said its officers met with the prime minister today.

"The meeting today took around two and a half hours. The prime minister extended his full cooperation to the MACC," said the commission.

However, the statement did not specify where the meeting took place.

MACC said it would keep the public informed of developments as they arise.

On Dec 3, MACC said it had met representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office to discuss a possible date to record Najib's statement.

On Sunday, MACC had recorded the statements of Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low and SRC International director Datuk Suboh Md Yassin over the matter.

Najib had said he would give a statement to MACC after being advised by Attorney General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali that doing so would hasten the completion of the investigation into the RM2.6 billion funds linked to the prime minister.

SRC International was a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Bhd until it was placed under the Finance Ministry in 2012.
