JOHOR BARU: A semi-state funeral will be held for Tunku Laksamana Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim tomorrow.
Johor Council of the Royal Court president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli said the final rites will be carried out at the Istana Besar, before burial at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum after Zohor prayers tomorrow.
He said a three-day mourning period would begin for all people and civil servants in Johor starting tomorrow. Members of the royal family will observe a seven-day mourning period.
Rahim said tomorrow's ceremonies begin with the 'istiadat siram jenazah' at 7am.
The public is allowed to pay their last respects for Tunku Abdul Jalil at Istana Besar from 9am to 11.30am.
A hearse bearing Tunku Abdul Jalil's remains will later pass through a 3km route from Istana Besar to the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum.
He said the public should observe the dress code when paying their last respects.
