JOHOR BARU: The remains of Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim passed through a 3km route from Istana Besar towards the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum.
The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar led the group which carried the royal hearse bearing his son's remains.
Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail and Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris accompanied Tunku Abdul Jalil's remains in the royal hearse.
Their brother Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman and other male relatives in the royal family also accompanied the royal hearse.
Other royalty and dignitaries followed behind the royal hearse, which was pulled by 20 men.
Earlier, a brief downpour that lasted 10 minutes did not discourage mourners from staying put to observe the ceremony.
Scores of people lined the route where the royal hearse passed through in Jalan Ayer Molek.
Earlier, 25 policemen and 25 Johor Military Force personnel carried the casket down the Istana Besar's main steps.
Guests had also joined a congregation to perform the solat jenazah inside the Singgahsana led by the royal palace Imam after the Zohor prayers.
