KUALA LUMPUR: Puteri Umno chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin has defended the wing’s move to allow only Muslim journalists to cover one of its events today
Speaking to reporters after the launch of Puteri Umno’s ‘Daulatkan Islam Agama Negara’ (DIAN) programme here, Mas Ermieyati said: “As we all know, DIAN is a programme to protect the sovereignty of Islam and the country.
“So, it is exclusive to Muslim leaders and members. That is all,” she said when asked to comment on the issue.
Mas Ermieyati, however, declined to comment further when pressed by journalists.
Earlier, several news portals had reported that non-Muslim reporters were prevented from entering one of the halls in Putra World Trade Centre here, where the Puteri Umno event was held.
