28 illegal immigrants nabbed during Ops Ikrar

IPOH: A total of 28 illegal immigrants were nabbed yesterday during a raid by the Immigration Department at five locations here.

State Immigration enforcement chief Ahmad Puat Abdul Hamid said those arrested were from Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia and Nepal. Those arrested are aged between 15 and 40 years old.

"We also summoned a local for harbouring illegals," he said when contacted here today.

The illegals will be sent to Langkap detention centre on Friday, added Puat.

The operation, code named Ops Ikrar, involved two restaurants and three residential homes.

A total of 18 personnel were involved in the four hour operation.
