Konsert 5 Divo sees artistes from three countries sharing the stage

KUALA LUMPUR: They say three is a crowd. But why stop at three big names in the music scene when you can have five?

Come Feb 13 next year, Konsert 5 Divo featuring five talented male singers from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia will be held at Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam.

The five are Akademi Fantasia (AF) Season 7 and 9 champions Hafiz Suip and Hazama Azmi respectively, Singapore's Taufik Batisah and Indonesia's Afgan and Judika.

With the universal theme of love, the one-night only concert will see acclaimed music maestro Datuk Ramli MS as the music director, who will also be leading the 50-piece orchestra and band.

Organised by Laugh Out Loud Entertainment, its director Gadaffi Ismail Sabri said that it had always been one of his dreams to provide young and talented singers a platform for them to showcase their music skills.

"The concert is also a gathering of stars, where these five multi-talented singers will have the opportunity to interact with their fans.

"They are some of the best and most well-known singers in the region based on the quality of their music and vocals. Hopefully with the concert, it will open up doors of opportunity for them to advance in their music career," he said.

Gadaffi (more popularly known as Dafi), who is also a graduate of AF Season 5, said this at the concert's press conference in Pusat Bandar Damansara today.

Costing RM2.5 million to stage, the organisers promised to bring the best of the best concert experience for the audiences.

"There have been complaints from concertgoers about expensive concert ticket prices that do not justify with the experience of a real good concert.

"For Konsert 5 Divo, we will be working with an Indonesian company that is known to provide state-of-the-art sound equipment.

"We want the fans to come and experience good music. Gimmicks aren't necessary. Our core focus is their vocals," he said.

Expressing his gratitude for being chosen as one of the five artistes to perform at Konsert 5 Divo, Hafiz said: "It's an opportunity of a lifetime to be able to share the same stage with the rest of the talented singers. It feels good to see artistes from neighbouring countries come together in the name of music. Each of us brings to the table a different kind of performance."

Each artiste is down to perform about five songs and they are in the midst finalising the songs and music arrangements.

There are also plans to bring the concert outside of Malaysia.

"We are looking into that aspect and we hope to stage it in Indonesia and Singapore. We are also in talks with an Indonesian TV station to broadcast the concert," he said.

Tickets for Konsert 5 Divo are priced between RM128 and RM1,188. The VIP tickets will include a meet-and-greet session with the singers, an autographed poster and an exclusive t-shirt.

There will also be an early bird discount of 20 per cent for those who purchase their tickets from Dec 28 till Jan 12. Visit www.ticketpro.com.my for more details.
