KLANG: A total of 91,509 Standard 1 pupils are registered for the 2016 new school term in Selangor.
Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan said he expects the numbers would continue to grow as there are parents who are still registering their children to enter for the first year of school today.
Kamalanathan said the late registration should not have happened given the latest technology that enables parents to do so online.
He said this during an official visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Klang Jaya this morning.
Also present were state education department director Zainuren Mohd Nor and the school's headmaster Ahmad Fuad Abdul Rani.
