JOHOR BARU: A 34-year-old lorry driver with a courier company was charged with criminal breach of trust over a consignment of computer chips and electronic components worth more than RM900,000.
Mohd Fazli Zahari pleaded not guilty for the charge under Section 408 of the Penal Code, which was read in front of Magistrate Tan Chai Wei.
Mohd Fazli committed the offence at DHL Express (M) Sdn Bhd, Tebrau 2 Industrial Area, Johor Baru at about 3.45pm on Jan 1.
The charge sheet said he committed criminal breach of trust over RM958,372 worth of chips and electronic components owned by the company.
Those convicted under this act could be jailed no less than a year and not more than 14 years with whipping and can be fined.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhamad Taufik Saberi prosecuted. The accussed Fazli was represented by lawyer Nor Shahid Abd Malik.
Tan set bail at RM8,000 with one surety and fixed Jan 31 for re-mention.
