SITIAWAN: The body of a 14-year-old boy who was drowned yesterday evening were found floating at 3.30am this morning.
Sitiawan Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the deceased, Mohd Alif Haikal Kamarulzaman was found by the search and rescue team.
“He felt off into the river while trying to get his fishing rod at Sungai Changkat Meranti, Sungai Wangi, here, yesterday,” he said.
The search operation was led by the Fire and Rescue Department senior assistant Mohd Zaki Zainol which began at 6pm yesterday and ended at 4.15am this morning.
“The body of the deceased was handed over to the police for further action,” he said.
