Slow traffic flow Northwards, LPT to be congested

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic on the North-South Highway (PLUS) heading to the north and East Coast Expressway (LPT) were reported to be moving slowly and was congested due to the increase in the number of vehicles for the Chinese New Year celebration tomorrow.

A PLUS spokesman when contacted said the traffic flow from Slim River to Sungkai was moving slowly as the number of vehicles had increased.

“Slow traffic flow was reported from Permatang Pauh to Sungai Dua at KM130.9 heading to the north due to an accident involving a car. But no casualty was reported,” he told Bernama when contacted today.

However, the traffic flow heading south was still under control.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority said the huge volume of traffic from Gombak Toll Plaza to Genting Sempah had caused a massive traffic jam in LPT.
