KUALA TERENGGANU: An elderly man succumbed to dengue at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) hospital here yesterday, bringing the death toll due to dengue in Terengganu to eight this year.
The state executive councillor in charge of health Datuk Pehimi Yusof told Bernama the 57-year-old man, from Port Dickson who came to Rusila on work matters, died at the hospital’s intensive care unit at 8.10pm
From Jan 1 till yesterday, more than 800 dengue cases have been reported in Terengganu, an increase of 265.3 per cent as compared to 219 cases for the same period last year.
Terengganu has been one of the worst hit states of dengue outbreaks this year. --Bernama
