Cops looking for foreigner assaulted by Papagomo in viral video

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for the foreign worker assaulted by blogger Papagomo last week to facilitate investigation.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said it was wrong for the blogger, whose real name is Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, to assault the man despite the latter having allegedly commute sexual harassment against his sister.

"We are looking for the victim in the video to assist our probe into the incident.

"It is wrong and unlawful for anyone to take the law into their own hands.

"He (Papagomo) should have lodged a police report on the foreigner's alleged sexual harrassment against his sister," he said earlier today.

Khalid also chided such acts of vigilantism, saying that it is not only wrong to hurt another human being but also animals.

Last week, a video showing Azri slapping and kicking a foreign worker for allegedly making lewd gesture against his sister, went viral on social media.

The video drew mixed reactions from netizens, with some criticising his action while others taking side with the blogger.
