KUCHING: The Gedong community centre in the Serian district, which was turned into a relief centre housing 211 flood victims from 74 families, was closed as of noon today.
Sarawak Civil Defence Department (JPAM) public relations officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said only one evacuation centre is currently active, which is the Sacred Heart Church.
She said the number of flood victims taking shelter at the church remained unchanged since Saturday night.
“A total of 51 victims from 14 families from Kampung Bidayuh Tebakang in Serian, are still taking shelter at the church.
“All flood evacuees at the Gedong community centre have moved out as of noon,” she said when contacted.
